Feted in legend, song and story for being, well, different! The largest of
England's "New Cities", laid out on a grid of roundabouts - and famous for its
concrete cows - which were a piece of conceptual art through which the city
laughed at itself. So for our Mensa gathering with a "transport and travel"
theme we take a behind-the-scenes look at the East Midlands' unsung gem...
Our base for the weekend is the Holiday Inn hotel in the city centre, and we've
negotiated rates of £35 per person per night sharing a double/twin room or £60 for
sole occupancy, including full English buffet breakfast and complimentary use of the
hotel's leisure club.
